Bone Carving Workshop 2

Introduction to bone carving with Gavin Smith. This workshop is held over 2 sessions, on consecutive Saturdays.

My name is Gavin Smith I began my journey Bone Carving 17 years ago. Bone Carving has changed the way I see the world, it has influenced how I raised my 3 children, and engaged with at risk youth and whanau in the Tauranga Moana as a social worker. I believe that whakairo is about story, the role of the bone carver is to create a snapshot in time. This course is an interpretation of the value I place on the story within the carving of bone.
