The film of cult film director Ed Wood's life was brought to the screen in 1994 and seen by a 23 year old Edward Gains on a chilly night on a cinema screen in his hometown of Dunedin. Directed by one of Edward's favourite directors of the time, Tim Burton, it struck a note for the obscure artist who was still trying to find his way in the world and to find his own voice.
